Partners Realises a Second Data Processing Centre

The Bremen-based IT house, Partners Software, has extended its company headquarters' data-processing centre.  Especially LOW.FARE's strong growth and new clients have made this step necessary. The second data centre lies within the largest Bremen-based Internet mainframe’s building. Thus, Partners gains capacity, security and quickly connecting both of its data-processing centres. Via LOW.FARE, Partners has in September 2006 processed approx. 5.8 million transactions, which represent over 300% more than in September 2005.

New clients and the enormous growth of LOW.FARE had rendered the data-processing centre in Bremen’s Vegesack district and Partners Software’s headquarters too small within a short time frame. Within this framework, the company has built a second location. This lies within the largest Bremen-based Internet mainframe’s building and fulfils the highest demands regarding both access security and redundancy.

"We now have two excellently equipped locations, which we have appropriately linked, so that they can be run as one system,” states Partner’s CEO, Kai Hannemann. In addition, the data-processing centre is directly connected to an Internet mainframe. Partners Software can now offer its clients, besides more redundancy and security, also systems with direct connection to numerous providers’ gigabit Internet backbones.

The second data-processing centre is already set up and connected both via a radio link as well as via a cable connection with the previous location. Together, both locations take up an area of more than 200m2 and can hold up to 500 computers. “We offer both developing software and operating the systems completely via our own in-house personnel. For providing top service, which our larger clients require,” further explains Mr Hannemann.
